Bigger Picture Blogs presents:
Join us for an entire day of soulful creativity combined with community. Live Writing Circles in the morning, a break for lunch together, a two-hour Visual Prayer workshop in the afternoon led by artist Michelle Pendergrass and then dinner together as we wind down and relax from our creative retreat! You can sign up for one session or the whole day.
9:00 am Registration and Greeting
9:30-11:30 am Live Writing Circle Presented by Bigger Picture Blogs
- Writing Circles presents writers of all skills and genres to come together in an encouraging and welcoming environment to work on the craft and art of writing. We will take time to write on a prompt that we have all been given and the rest of the time will be for reading and critiquing each other's work.
11:30-1:00pm Lunch on your own/small groups/everyone in the community
1:00-3:00pm Visual Prayer Workshop with artist Michelle Pendergrass
- Visual Prayer is a way to connect to God through our natural desire to create. By combining several artistic values that may overlap each other including (but not limited to) scrapbooking, painting, drawing, doodling, and countless other visual and kinetic art techniques, we are able to commune with God through creation. Visual prayer offers tangible comfort and peace in our sometimes intangible faith. Everyone will go home with one 8x10 prayer they've created on a professional canvas suitable for framing.
Come for the entire day or choose to do only one session. Cost is $25 for just Visual Prayer, $20 just Writing Circles, or $35 for the day {Lunch and Dinner are not included in the cost}.
Anyone, professional artist or writer and artist dabblers alike are welcome! BUT space is very limited. Only 18 spots are available. Community is built on the foundations of time spent, conversations shared, and hearts open. We know this time will be full of all that and more!
If you are able to join us after the workshop for a group dinner, please register for that as well so we can make arrangements at a local restaurant.
